4× image upscaler

Upscale an image 4× online.

Use Premium 4× when you need a substantially larger image without stepping into a full editing workflow. Upload the source, process it, compare before and after, then download the result.

What 4× means

Four times the width and four times the height.

A 4× upscale targets four times the source dimensions on each side. For example, a 1000 × 750 image targets 4000 × 3000 pixels. That is sixteen times as many output pixels overall.

Very large input images can be fitted before processing to stay inside active output limits, so the effective scale can be lower for oversized sources.

When to use 4×

More resolution without unnecessary reconstruction.

4× upscaling is useful when a source is too small for a larger layout, product listing, presentation, print, wallpaper or crop. If the image is already visually clean, a larger output can be more useful than aggressive restoration.

When the source has facial blur, compression or damage, use the main tool to compare the 4× result against Safe, GFPGAN, CodeFormer or Restore rather than assuming one method is always best.

FAQ

4× image upscaling questions

Does 4× mean four times the file size?

No. 4× refers to target image dimensions per side, not encoded file size. The final JPEG size depends on image content and compression.

Is 4× always better than 2×?

No. A larger output is useful only when you need it. If the source is weak, more pixels can also make artifacts easier to notice, which is why the before-and-after comparison matters.

Can I upscale multiple images 4×?

Yes. Add multiple source files to the main tool and run Premium 4× separately for the images that need it.

Do I need to install software?

No. The public workflow runs in the browser and does not require a desktop application.
